PFAS

Group Delta, an NV5 Company, is providing on-call environmental consulting services at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) and the Fresno Chandler Executive Airport (FCH). In the first year of a five-year contract, our team has developed an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) to fluorine-free firefighting foam (F3) Transition Plan in accordance with the most current local, state and federal regulations for FAT. This effort evaluated and selected 1) the most suitable F3 agent, 2) aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle decontamination treatment system, and 3) a disposal method for AFFF and PFAS-containing materials. Our team is working closely with the City of Fresno and the Fire Department to expedite implementation of the Transition Plan. In addition, our team executed a Phase I ESA, hazardous materials survey, Phase II ESA, and subsurface soil vapor investigation in accordance with DTSC’s Title 5 Environmental Hazardous Review for school sites at several hangars being considered for demolition and site redevelopment into an aviation academy by the Fresno Unified School District at FCH.
