Hollywood Center Development

Group Delta, an NV5 Company, led multiple fault investigations and geotechnical evaluations in Hollywood, California, including the high-profile Hollywood Millennium Towers project. These efforts, spanning from 2016 to 2024, focused on properties within the Hollywood Fault Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zone and involved hundreds of core borings, cone penetration test transects, and deep fault trenching to assess seismic risks and model subsurface stratigraphy. For the Yucca Street Development, our team prepared a design-level geotechnical report for a mixed-use building on a 0.6-acre site featuring five- and eighteen-story sections, 116 residential units, and 182 parking spaces. Additional investigations supported commercial and school sites, including surface fault rupture hazard evaluations that addressed 50-foot setback requirements, with reports approved by the City of Los Angeles.

Added Value

  • Groundbreaking Fault Investigation: Our team led the most extensive fault study in Los Angeles County history, setting a new standard for geotechnical investigations in seismically sensitive zones.
  • Regulatory Impact: Our team provided exclusive subsurface data that proved the fault was inactive, directly influencing a judicial decision to overturn the California Geological Survey’s original findings—paving the way for future development.
  • Development Enablement: Our team delivered critical geotechnical insights that unlocked the potential of the largest approved project within the Hollywood Fault Zone, enabling safe, code-compliant construction in a previously restricted area.
