MTA Gold Line Iconic Bridge

This project received Engineering News Record (ENR) Project of the Year Award for this 11.5-mile extension of the Metro Gold Line. This project was the first mass transit crossing in California to be designed by an artist. This project was the first design-build project for Gold Line Authority.
Group Delta, an NV5 Company, provided geotechnical seismic design for the Iconic Bridge. Our team also provided geotechnical engineering design recommendations and support during construction. Our team also provided foundation recommendations for large 10-foot Cast In Drilled Hole (CIDH) piles.

Added Value

  • Pioneering Geotechnical Expertise: Our team delivered seismic design and foundation recommendations for California’s first artist-designed mass transit bridge, featuring large 10-foot CIDH piles to support the iconic structure.
  • Design-Build Innovation: Our team supported the Gold Line Authority’s first design-build project with tailored geotechnical engineering solutions from design through construction, ensuring structural integrity and project efficiency.
  • Award-Winning Contribution: Our team played a key technical role in a project recognized as ENR’s Project of the Year, contributing to a landmark 11.5-mile transit extension that set new standards in infrastructure and design.
