This new 4-story 511,000-square-foot Naval Hospital at the Marine Corps Base replaced the prior out-of-date facility. The project included design and construction of a multi-story hospital and a 1,500-space multi-level parking structure, 1,000-space parking lot, and bridge. Once completed, the project received the 2014 Platinum Building Design & Construction’s Building Team Award.
Group Delta, an NV5 Company, provided geotechnical design parameters for the planned construction as well as subsurface explorations for soil conditions, liquefaction potential and bearing capacity of the soil. Additionally, our team provided recommendations and conclusions addressing potential geologic hazards, slope stability, earthwork construction.
Added Value
- Geotechnical Design Expertise: Our team delivered critical soil evaluations and design parameters to support the safe construction of the 4-story, 511,000-square-foot hospital and parking structures.
- Hazard Mitigation: Our team assessed liquefaction potential, bearing capacity, and slope stability to address geologic risks and ensure long-term structural resilience.
- Construction Support: Our team provided earthwork recommendations that guided efficient and secure site development for all major components, including the bridge and parking facilities.
