Skyview Road Pedestrian Bridge

Group Delta, an NV5 Company, provided geotechnical services for the design and construction of a new 4-span, 370 foot, long 18 foot-wide, 22-foot high pedestrian bridge with abutments supported on 2 ft diameter CIDH piles and piers supported on 4.5 ft diameter Type I CIDH piles to close the gap on Skyview Road at French Valley Creek and improve pedestrian access between residential neighborhoods and a new library.

Group Delta, an NV5 Company, was geotechnical engineer of record for Type Selection, PS&E Design, and Construction Support including a geotechnical investigation consisting of 5 mud rotary borings up to 120 feet depth, Preliminary Foundation Report (PFR) for Type Selection, and final design Foundation Report (FR) following Caltrans and AASHTO standards. Challenges included obtaining regulatory and environmental permits and performing grading to enter the environmentally sensitive channel. Construction is planned for 2024 to 2025.
