The County of Calaveras planned to replace the existing Whiskey Slide Road bridge over Jesus Maria Creek, which is a single-span steel girder structure with a concrete deck carrying a single lane of traffic. The proposed replacement bridge would be constructed just downstream of the existing bridge. The replacement alternatives would involve constructing an approximately 60-foot-long, 23.3-foot-wide cast-in-place concrete single-span bridge. Group Delta’s scope of work included providing preliminary foundation recommendations for type selection of the subject bridge replacement reviewing available geologic, geotechnical, and project information, performing preliminary engineering analyses, and developing preliminary foundation recommendations.
