The Calaveras County Department of Public Works is proposing to replace the existing Schaad Road bridge over Forest Creek in Wilseyville, CA. The existing bridge was constructed in 1993 and consists of a railroad car superstructure single-span bridge with substandard vehicular railing carrying a single lane of traffic. The current bridge overtops during high creek flows as the abutments and wing walls restrict the creek flows. The proposed replacement bridge, which will be constructed just downstream of the existing bridge, will provide a larger hydraulic opening and will carry two lanes of traffic. Group Delta’s scope of work included reviewing available geologic, geotechnical, and project information, performing engineering analyses, developing foundation recommendations, and preparing a foundation report.
